ABOUTAugust Torsilieri has created a successful team of competitive horses and riders in the jumper, hunter and equitation rings. The results are the product of dedication to the fundamentals of classical riding, good horsemanship, and careful development of young horses.
Torsilieri started riding at age 7, and joined Pony Club two years later. For many years he competed in USPC Tetrathlon. This sport combines riding with swimming, running, and shooting. He won the Junior Boy Division at USPC National Championships and continued to place in the top three throughout the Senior Boy Division at the National Championships. He was a member of the Tetrathlon International team in 2007, traveling around North America competing against teams from England, Ireland and Canada. His riding took him to Hong Kong in July 2010 as part of the USPC International show jumping team. In 2012 August achieved his Traditional A Pony Club Certificate and his B Pony Club Rating with the Show Jumping Track. He has worked with younger Pony Club members as an adjunct instructor. August graduated from Cairn University with a degree in music and education. The education degree has served him very well as a riding instructor. His students are successful at some of the most competitive shows in the country. August has ridden and trained with Laura Chapot, Cherie Gaeble, Jean Paul Murat, Devin Ryan, Nona Garson and Anne Kursinski. He has qualified and competed at all of the major indoor shows and is a Nationally and FEI ranked Grand Prix rider. August owns and operates Torsilieri Show Stables in Pittstown, NJ and Ocala, FL. New students always welcome. August is also available for clinics. Call or email augusttorsilieri@gmail.com (908) 752-2982 |
